The "No-Mod" Solution

The best location for optics on any firearm is above the mid to rear part of the receiver to achieve proper eye relief and perceived weight distribution. This is best done via a side rail attached to the left side of the AK receiver wall as this is known to be the most stable location on the AK receiver to resist the recoil forces during shooting. This is why a side rail serves as the traditional attachment point for optics on the AK firearm.

Any traditional AK side rail can be problematic for an underfolder AK as the underfolding stock may hit the side rail when the stock is folded up. There is just not enough clearance room inside the folder arm to clear the traditional AK side rail. That is why we made an AK side rail version that is compatable with an Underfolder AK.

Designed to pair specifically with our Underfolder AK version optic mount.

Easily Reversible

The AK Master Mount™ Underfolder AK side rail attaches to milled or stamped AK receivers via the existing hammer and trigger axis pin holes in about 15 minutes using the included proprietary mounting pins; therefore, no need to drill, tap, rivet, or use a gunsmith. The dovetail portion of our Underfolder AK side rail is located high on the AK receiver's side wall so it does not interfere with the folded-up stock arm of an underfolder AK firearm.

When paired with our Underfolder specific optic mount, our Underfolder AK Side Rail kit is the only such product on the market to provide reliable optics mounting capability to the underfolder AK platform.

No Permanent Modification

Since no permanent receiver modifications are made, our side rail can later be removed if desired to return the AK receiver to factory condition. A bonus of our mounting pin design is that the internal shepherd’s crook retaining wire for the original axis pins is no longer needed.

Rock Solid, Parallel to the Barrel

The AK Master Mount™ side rail is low profile, rock solid, and parallel to the barrel to allow for use of our own AK Master Mount™ Underfolder AK Optic Mount. Our optic mount's top picatinny rail is then centered over the dustcover.

The side rail and mounting pins are made of steel. The mounting pins are heat treated to hardness of Rockwell C 30. The side rail weighs 3.7 ounces.

Underfolder AK Optic Mount

Specifically designed to fit our proprietary Underfolder AK Side Rail. Its top Picatinny / ACOG rail is 4 1/4 inches long, and it weighs 6.0 ounces.

It has a steel insert at the end of the dovetail channel.

Its 2-in-1 top rail design accommodates Picatinny and ACOG based optics without need for adapter.

Accepts our optional accessory side rail on the rear two struts.
