Built Rugged as the Rifle Itself

Our Type 81 side rail is machined from solid steel for superior strength.  No metal casting or aluminum here.  A recess milled into the back side (lightening cut) gives weight reduction.  Finished in Black-T™ for excellent corrosion resistance.

 

 

 

 

Low Axis Over Bore

Our Type 81 side rail was specifically dimensioned to pair with our AKM line of optic mounts.  This places our optic mount low over bore, centered over the receiver's center, and proportioned correctly over the dustcover's length.  This allows simultaneous use of the rifle's iron sights when an optic mount is not present. 

This intentional design also allows our optic mount's low profile to hug the side of the receiver. 

 

The Perfect Accessory

Our Type 81 Side Rail brings a modern AK optic mount platform to the Type 81 rifle.  Since our type 81 side rail is dimensionally the standard AK pattern, most optic mounts designed for the standard AK pattern side rail will fit it.  The type 81 side rail was specifically dimensioned to pair with our AKM line of optic mounts.  This places our optic mounts low over bore, centered over the receiver's center, and proportioned ideally over the dustcover.

 

 

Full Length Optic Mount 

Its top Picatinny / ACOG rail is 7 1/4 inches long to nearly run the entire length of the dust cover.  This allows for placement of larger optics, magnifiers, or for those wanting optic placement flexibility. It weighs 6.6 ounces.

2-in-1 top rail design accommodates Picatinny and ACOG based optics without need for an adapter.

Accepts our optional accessory side rail.

 

 

Forward Biased Optic Mount

Its top Picatinny / ACOG rail is 3 1/4 inches long.  This version is for those AK users who like the optic placed further forward from their eye.  It weighs 5.5 ounces.   

2-in-1 top rail design accommodates Picatinny and ACOG based optics without need for an adapter.

Rear Biased Optic Mount

Its top Picatinny / ACOG rail is 3 inches long and sits at the back part of the dustcover. This optic mount is the perfect length for a red dot or holographic sight. It weighs 5 ounces.
